About the Coarse
DAN Oxygen Provider trains and educates students in entry-level techniques for using oxygen in the first aid management of suspected dive accidents. It introduces novice divers to the fundamentals of dive accident recognition, response and management.
Class topics include signs and symptoms of a dive emergency requiring oxygen first aid, benefits of providing oxygen to an injured diver, potential hazards of working with oxygen, assembly and deployment of the DAN oxygen unit, and use of each mask option for breathing and non-breathing divers.
Course Requirements
- Open Water Diver certification.
- Emergency First Response certification, or equivalent First Aid/CPR certification.
