When I’m not working with students, you will find me diving with a camera in my hand. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was ten years old, and my dad first put his SLR in my hands.
In 1994, I earned my open water dive certification, which enabled me to take that passion to the next level—underwater photography. As far as I’m concerned, gliding underwater is the most peaceful and beautiful place on the planet. Some of my favorite types of diving include night diving and wreck diving.
I’ve glimpsed many incredible sights on my dives to the shipwrecks of the St. Lawrence River, the reefs of Key Largo and Grand Cayman, and in the caverns of Florida. There are so many amazing and interesting places to explore; no two dives are ever the same. Even dives to the same site are never quite identical. I always find new sea life to observe and photograph when I revisit my old favorites. In 2004, I earned my dive master certification, and now I am able to share my love of the water with students. I can’t wait to see what new adventures and experiences this dive season will bring.
