AKA: "Gentleman Jim "
I’m Jim Crisanti, a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor at Blue Ocean Divers. I have been diving for 6 years, getting my start with Ron Witte of Sea Fan Scuba. I’ve been with Mike at Blue Ocean since nearly the beginning.
I have upgraded my PADI Medic First Aid Instructor credentials to Instructor for Emergency First Response with AED at Beneath the sea in March 2003. By the end of the 2003 summer I plan to be a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and will be teaching several specialties. I teach both the Blue Ocean Divers community classes as well as help with the Binghamton University SCUBA Program.
I have specialties in Boat Diving, Underwater Photography and Nitrox diving. With over 250 dives, my diving history is quite varied from the blue warm water of the Florida Keys to the cold clear water of the Finger Lakes in January. My favorite dives involve wrecks (usually pretty deep) with a film, digital or video camera in my hands. Of course one of my favorite places to dive is the St. Lawrence River due to it’s clarity, temperature, abundance of (real) wrecks and closeness to home.
Over the past several months I have been assembling my new rig for use in technical diving. Tim Doty and I will be taking decompression and extended range classes later this year. This new training will offer us the ability to reach new heights (or depths) in our dive experiences.
When not in the water, I’m usually at my ‘real job’ or off on a mountain someplace on my mountain bike, snowboard, or in my Jeep.
