Terry Stockdale
AKA: "No Sweat Terry"
I was certified for Open Water in October 1987 and immediately signed up for the Advanced Open Water training (Adventures in Diving). I was certified for AOW in November 1987. After getting some dives under my (weight) belt (sorry… a little dive humor) I continued my dive training and received my Rescue Diver Certification in July 1988. Spent some time as a safety diver for scuba classes before becoming a Certified PADI Dive Master in October 1988.
I worked as a Dive Master for Scuba Sports and Sea Fan Scuba until coming to Blue Ocean Divers. After 10 Years as a Dive Master, “Mach 10” Mike talked me into becoming an Assistant Instructor (Thanks Mike!).
I really enjoy working with students and find it very rewarding to see the progress from week to week. It’s always so cool to see someone who starts out a little nervous, become a confident diver by the end of training! The vast majority of my dives have been with students…. But I do manage to do some diving for myself once in a while.
My favorite type of Diving:
Deep Diving and Wreck Diving
Best Dives: The USCG Duane, Key Largo, Florida (Lots to see, Great Wreck Dive)
Molokini, Hawaii (Drift dive on the outside of the crater; Shallow Lagoon on the inside)
Diving Turn Offs:
Cold water - I’m a W.I.M.P. (Why Inflict More Pain) so I wear a Drysuit
Zebra Muscles (Yes, there’s a story to that…)
If you’ve ever had even the slightest interest in diving, all I can say is “Try it…You’ll Like It” !!
After All, it’s…….. “No Sweat”
